What's some Good info for the general Visitor & Tourist to the Santa Barbara area ? Well, we've got some interesting Pointers for you right here at SBLocal.com . . . . . .

One of the main things you may notice while here, is that everything seems to be a bit off-kilter: that's because the ocean/beaches of Santa Barbara facr mostly to the South, and knowing that California has it's ocean to the West...well, don't become too disoriented by it.

All you really need to remember are a few main streets: STATE Street goes North & South, the mountainside is referred to as the EAST-side and the side towards the ocean as the WEST-side.

As the city turns, these directions change even when you're not looking! SEE the map below for more orientation. (You can click the MAP for a larger Printable Version!).

For a first time visitor, a highly reccommended area to visit is the Beach area! But of course - who wouldn't want to spend the day at the Beach ?

While you're visiting the Beach area , don't forget to take a stroll on Stearns Wharf - A working Wharf where you can get Fresh Boiled Crabs, in fact Rachel Ray featured the small restaurant at the end of the Wharf!

Grab a couple of fishing poles or crab nets from Stearns Wharf Bait Shop at the very end and perhaps land yourself a Big One! -Don't forget to grab a copy of the Santa Barbara Local Sights DVD Video and take home some Memorable Photographs on the DVD.

Taste some wine, if you'd like on the Wharf also. Be sure to bring your camera with you so you can snap a photo during Sunset with the Harbor in the background, which brings us to:

Obviously, we cannot speak of everything to see while in Santa Barbara. If we could, the information would take up at least a couple of hundred pages of information - plus perhaps a hundred photos or more!

So to wind this small page down: Don't forget to see the amazing view from the County Courthouses' Tower. Check out the Museum of Art at the corner of Anapamu and State Streets. The Flag Walk is located near the Harbor along the Breakwater. There's also the Ty Warner Sea Center, great for the kids. The Rainbow Arch Sculpture is away from Stearns Wharf & Chase Palm Park, The Visitors Center is also next to the Park on the corner of Santa Barbara and Cabrillo Blvd. - They have tons of information available.

If you get a chance, and are bringing the kids with you, don't forget to give them a ride on the Replica of an Old Time Carousel on Cabrillo Blvd. located in Chase Palm Park. Bring A Camera Too!!

Also don't forget to check out some of the Older Historical Locations - Casa De la Guerra, next to City Hall and De la Guerra Plaza. You'll find the Street in Spain walkway that'll take you to some really neat places and a nice Restaurant down that Alley-way, it's right next to Casa De la Guerra.

We Hope to Have More Information for You in our Next installment of Sightseeing In Santa Barbara.
